Stainless steel appliances command attention and admiration like no other type of kitchen appliance. There is no denying the absolute beauty and elegance of stainless steel in your kitchen; that sophisticated almost snobbish looking refrigerator, or that stove that just looks too good to cook on. The best way to clean stainless steel appliances still eludes most of the people who own them. Caring for your stainless steel appliances the right way will guarantee them looking beautiful for a very long time to come.

Although the finish looks durable, it can be scratched very easily, resulting in what I liken to scars on a beautiful face. You should take great care when cleaning stainless steel appliances, here’s how:

What you will need:

  • feather duster
  • 100% lint free microfiber cloth
  • polishing chamois
  • water
  • Signature Polish

Now that you have all your supplies let’s get ready to use them:

The first thing you will want to do is use the feather duster to get rid of any dust, or loose dirt, on the surface of the appliance. This needs to be done before attempting to wipe or polish the area because loose particles, no matter how tiny, will scratch your appliance when they are simply wiped off.

Ok, now that the dust is out of the way the next obstacle to having that show room finish that you plunked down thousands for, is those pesky fingerprints.Since the surface is so smooth, finger prints really stand out and if you simply try to wipe them off, they will only smudge and look worse. Use the micro fiber cloth made damp with warm water and do your best to buff them out, working with the grain of the surface (all work should follow the grain direction of the surface).

Use the polishing chamois to dry the appliance, keeping it in constant contact with the surface. After you have thoroughly dried the stainless steel you can begin polishing for that gleaming, streak free shine. Apply the Signature Polish onto the surface using the same polishing cloth you used before, working with the grain and keeping in continuous contact with the surface until done. All fingerprints and smudges will be gone and you will definately see your self smiling in that beautiful mirror like finish that you just worked so hard for.

I’ve heard of people using many different methods and substances to clean stainless steel appliances, from olive oil to WD40, I recommend staying away from those. (oil is a magnet for airborne dust)

Good Luck .Now for the interior!…
